상당한 부유층 집안. 나루를 둘러싸고 케타로와 종종 마찰(?)을 빚는다.

나루의 애정에 대해 케이타로의 한때 라이벌 역할을 했던 부유하고 잘 생기고 여러 분야에 정통한 고등학교 졸업생.
애니메이션 시리즈에만 등장하는 그는 케이타로의 낭만적 이상주의에 반해 실용적인 역할을 한다.

기민하고 전문적으로 예의가 바르며 총명한 켄타로는 부유한 가정에서 자랐다. 케이타로에 비해 매우 유능한 켄타로는 졸업 후 K(교토) 대학에 입학했다.

사업에 있어서는 열심히 일하는 것을 노골적으로 싫어하는 사람은 아니지만, 그는 본질적으로 사랑에 있어서는 바람둥이이며, ‘진정한 사랑’과 ‘열린 마음의 정직’과 같은 낭만적인 이상을 포함할 필요를 느끼지 않으며, 또한 그러한 일을 한다.

나루를 고등학교 1학년 때 처음 알아차린 켄타로도 그녀가 가정교사 인 세타 노리야스 에게 사랑받고 있다는 사실을 알아차리고 세타가 사진을 떠날 때까지 시간을 기다렸다. 졸업식 날이 되자 그는 가족이 소유한 교통수단을 타고 히나타 아파트 에 도착하여 개인적으로 나루를 졸업식에 데려가려고 그녀를 강요하려 했습니다 . 두 번째로 나루를 방문하는 동안 그와 나머지 히나타 주민들은 그와 케이타로가 나루가 서로에게 반할 것인지 여부를 놓고 논쟁을 벌이는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 그는 나루를 혼자 가나가와 네버랜드 로 데려갈 생각이었지만 , 그녀는 그의 의도를 모르는 듯 대신 히나타 주민 전체의 티켓을 사도록 그를 설득했습니다.

나루를 방문하려는 그의 두 번째 시도는 그녀와 바람을 피운 후 애완 악어가 그를 공격하게 한 Amalla Su 에 의해 중단되었습니다. Kentaro는 나머지 방문 시간을 Keitaro가 붉은 달 아래 Hinata에만 등장한 신비한 소녀를 추적하는 데 보냈습니다.

Not one to give up easily, Kentaro hosted an idol competition in Hinata, inviting Naru and Shinobu as contestants. With Naru winning the contest, Kentaro acted as her agent and promoted her as a national singing idol. However, Naru’s priorities to get into Tokyo University eventually caused the business to fail. Resorting to working odd jobs, he found work in the Hinata Café, and later the Hinata Seaside Teahouse, under Haruka.

Eventually he tired of chasing after Naru, labelling her a lost cause, he non-the-less stayed at the café offering assistance and advice when the dormitory residents require it. In that context he became instrumental in helping Keitaro and Naru’s relationship; helping Naru retrieve her present from Keitaro during Christmas Eve and helping her arrive at Pararakelse Island and assisting the group while on the island. He even provided Keitaro with the keys to the Forbidden Annex during the incident involving Keitaro’s sister, Kanako.

Kentaro has one theme from the Love Hina anime series, “Dry Leaves”, which is available in the Love Hina Original Sound File soundtrack.

육상방위대 마오에서 켄타로는 시라이와 하이타니와 함께 외계인 침입에 대비하여 시큐리티 모니터 요원으로 등장한다.

Kentaro’s name was so similar to Keitaro’s that the Hinata Residents often called him Keitaro by mistake. This occured so frequently that even Kentaro mistakenly called himself Keitaro during an introduction. Strangely genre savvy, Kentaro would often comment about the events going on around him like he was aware that he was in an anime. Haruka let him work at a pay rate of just 1.50 yen an hour Kentaro is the only male character to sport “hair antannae” in the series. Akamatsu wanted to use more characters from the anime in the manga, like Kentaro and Mei, but never had a chance. Only Mei made a cameo at the very end.
